  The 2 nd SARNET conference inspires water sector professionals from South Asia to action   The potential of rainwater harvesting has been brought to the fore in many South Asian countries. For example, in Maharashtra India Raah Foundation a member of the South Asia Rainwater Network (SARNET), and many others in the region have started sharing and exchanging knowledge on rainwater harvesting and are exploring the possibilities of forming a country-level collective to promote the adoption of the technology. As reported by Dr Sarika Kulkarni CEO and Founder of Raah Foundation India who attended the 2 nd international conference of the South Asia Rainwater Network (SARNET). Nepal too has started the process of forming a national-level alliance on rainwater harvesting. A member of SARNET from NEWAH in Nepal Resham Jung Singh has recognized the need to share knowledge with other like-minded development partners and is about to initiate the construction of a rainwater harvesting tank

  Queen of Hills & Roof of Rangamati in Bangladesh pleads for rainwater to stay longer Sajek Valley is the kingdom in the clouds within the reach of man Sajek Valley nestled in the hills of the Kasalong range of mountains in Sajek union, Baghaichchari Upazila in Rangamati district is frequented by local and foreign tourists visiting Bangladesh for its natural splendour. Breath-taking views of the clouds hugging the mountains, fresh air free from smoke and fumes, the green horizon, and having to enjoy the fresh fruits grown in the region are among some of the attractions in this region. Local inhabitants trekking for water downhill in Sajek Famously known as the queen of hills Sajek Valley is located 1450 feet above sea level. The local inhabitant’s livelihoods are tourism and Jhum cultivation. There are around 95 tourist resorts. The community in this region lives below the poverty line despite being a thriving tourist region. An arduous journey of walking downhill from 2000
